Suggestions for Forming an Exerstriding Group or Club
Existing groups or clubs:
Community Action – pledge dollars or get local sponsors for every mile your group Exerstrides to raise money for a community project or fundraiser (and improve your health).
Fitness Leadership – fitness clubs, trainers or community leaders can start Exerstrider groups to raise awareness of the benefits of regular exercise.
Get some real results along with other members of your Weight Watchers, TOPS
or other weight loss group!
Motivate your fellow Optimist, Rotary, and other
service group members to do something for their good health!
Get members of
your Elvis fan club to do something so they don’t end up looking like “the old” Elvis!
On your own:
Spouse (this is one exercise a husband and wife can enjoy together while both
get a satisfying workout).
Family members (create productive ‘family’ time activity away from the TV).
Neighbors and friends who live nearby.
Co-workers after work or during lunch breaks.
Mall walkers form a total body exercise group.
Building Pride and Recognition
Once your group or club starts Exerstriding, have fun! Give yourselves a name
and have T-shirts, hats or jackets made. You may know how to get that done,
but if you need help please let us know. We’ll put you in touch with someone who will help you get some glorious gear with the name of your group or club.
If you have an Exerstrider group or club, or would like to start one in your
area, send us contact information and we will post it here so that others can
contact you and join, and so that clubs can network and share ideas.
