1-piece vs. 2-piece adjustable "Real Nordic walking poles"
Don't be misled or confused by any claim that "real" Nordic walking poles are only one-piece versions, or by blanket claims that one-piece poles are "safer/lighter than adjustable poles! High quality, "real" Nordic walkiing poles come in both one-peice and two-piece designs. One-piece poles are not necessarily either safer or lighter. Many of the highest quality, lightest Nordic walking poles are two-piece, and no credible source questions the safety of high quality two-piece poles. (Note: three-piece poles are "trekking poles" and designed with three sections to allow the most compact stowage in a pack, and I've yet to se a three piece pole at any price engineered to provide sufficient vibration dampening and whisper quiet operation. Don't make the mistake of buying either poorly engineered 2 or 3-piece poles at any price.)

One-piece poles are more economical and come only in 5cm incremental lengths which can mean a bit less precise fit.
